ABOUT
ME
Hi! I’m Zander Pryor and I use he/him pronouns. I'm a senior at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX. I've acted on professional stages across Dallas and Fort Worth. Recently, I originated the title role in Andi Boi, a play premiered by Dallas Children’s Theater about a trans boy’s post-transition search for acceptance as he begins high school. In September, The Blank Theatre (virtually) produced my full-length play as its first presentation of a play that bridged its Young Playwrights Festival and its Living Room Series. Tony-award-winning playwright Stephen Karam was my mentor for the festival. My shorter plays have also been selected for festivals at my high school and at Stage West Theatre. I make a point of including queer characters and relationships in my writing in order to make space for more people like me in theatre.
I love bad TV, worse music, and clothing that blurs the line between emo teen and hippy 40-something. I adore anything fae and identify as a bibliophile. For Halloween, I've dressed as Loki (the Marvel version), Boy George (the 80s version), David Bowie (the Labyrinth version), and Patrick Brewer (the Schitt's Creek version). I’m the mom friend despite being a guy and possess exactly one (1) brain cell that I share with my boyfriend. I have a healthy relationship with him and an unhealthy relationship with coffee.
